There are currently several companys that offer hi-tech decks. For example element has the fiberlight and helium, darkstar with the armorlight, and almost with the impact support and uber light decks, etc.. Of all the supposed "hi tech" decks are they worth their price and do they last any longer than a normal deck, like the companys say they do?? also do the decks help any in the flick for flip tricks?? Finally, are they really alot lighter than a normal deck??

no it's absolute rubbish. even if your deck can withstand a little more impact, regardless razor tail is razor tail. : (

I wasn't talking about the graphic, I was taliking about the weight and pop of hi-tech decks, and if they are really all that better than a traditional deck.

interesting that you should ask...i have much expirence in this and can through trail and error that the best thing to do is just stick with wood. The element fiberlights aren't much different from their regular decks, however when you break it the fiberglass in the middle is very flexible and will hold the deck together-no clean snap. Lib Techs have a good feel and are strong but dont give the same feel of wood which is better. Those 200 dollar graphite decks are good but again the tail on them never feels quite right. Almost uber lights suck worst then any thing i've tried-almost impact supports are highly recomended. Foundation Fiberlams are also highly recomended but i still perfer wood. There is such thing as a deck that has too much tech stuff in it which-trust me-is not any good. However there are decks that are slightly tech-epoxy glue and canadian hardrock maple help-and the best decks i have tried are:
Creature power-lites
Crimson Life blood tech
Regular Foundations
Toy machine
Santa Cruz power-lites
Real
Zero
Mystery
These are the decks of my choice that are strong and do not sacrifice board feel (wood) with technology gimmicks.

I had heard that zeros where on the heavy side, thats why I haven't used them, I guess the next deck I get will be a zero, mystery, or toy machine. I also haven't used any of the other brands you named, I have only used black label, flip, birdhouse and element. I bought a new deck about a week ago but its bigger than I normally ride so I am haveing alot of trouble with it, its a 7.88. Do deck sizes affect tricks( like the flick of the board or the height of an ollie)?

people suck *Horse's Patoot* - zeros are actually very lite and i can't understand why every *Golly Gee* says they're heavy. *Golly Gee* them-buy a zero or a mystery(same company-blackbox) or a foundation. and to anwser your ? - size does affect flip but not much and wide decks make landings easier and to my knowledge size doesn't affect ollie and if it does it's only like a few cm's- *Golly Gee* you very much

Every goddam skateboard deck is roughly the same goddam weight as the next one. It varies by like 100-200 motherfucking grams which is way too little for any of us to notice.

its just marketing a board is a board. Just watch out for cold press vs hot press. Hot press is no good.
